With Waffles, strawberry jam forever and whipped cream we plan to do final mixing on THE SLOW LOVE & KARAMAZOV today. It will give the songs just that kind of sweet, tasty edge that they need. Yesterday, I went to visit Metaltown in Gothenburg where I felt somewhat like a stranger. Drumming

Instead of spending time out in the really nice spring sun of gothenburg, I recorded drums for the last three songs of the album! And it feels great to be ready with the drumming part!

Olof is going to china this Friday. And will be there for some time! When Olof is gone we will record guitars and vocals and other stuff!

And finally, a thought for Pontus. It's really sad Rögle BK didn't qualify for next the season of Elisterien. I hope they qualify next year!

Last night we met up (despite the snow-chaos) and did some mixing on babycomeback+broadway+locomotion. It went well except for Johnny showing us once again that he's the most clumsy in the band, pouring out a glass of red wine.

Later on we played a couple of games of icehockey. Olof really stepped up showing his talents by playing fairly even against the champion Pontus. Final score 4-3

This week we got back our masters of Little LDN, Vasaplasten and No Alexander. They sound really good! We are also mixing three other songs right now. And then there's only one more recording session planed for the album. So the release of the album is getting close. :)

After today's rehearsal we have The feeling for tomorrow. It will be a great night, with a six song setlist from us! Hope you will come see us and The Berndt at parken. The club opens at 20.00. We will be on stage 21.30!

Today we had the big hockey première. We were supposed to be a lot of people, but some got sick and some didn't dare to come. But it was a nice first time! And its now official, Patrik has the worst condition in the band!

We also skated around lake "Kåsjön" in the nice Swedish winter sun. But it was to much snow on the lake.

I hope there will be more of us playing next time when the match between Rögle Bk and Timrå IK will take place!

This has been a great weekend for the band and the record!

We are now done with all the recordings of the songs Vasaplatsen, Baby Come Back, No Alexander, Broadway, Little Ldn and Locomotion, after some hours of outstanding guitar-playing by Mr Berglund himself. Olof and him also recorded the last backup-vocals.
The result is really good, and we have very high expectations for the mixing!

We will now take a short brake for the holidays!

World Championship Hockey

Patrik, Jon & Pontus participated in the world championship in hockey on xbox last night. After a good, solid winning streak to the finals we lost to Germany (0-1) in the semi.

- It's always hard to loose like that, especially against Germany, and we know we can do so much better than this, says an exhausted Jon Höglund after the game.

Today Patrik and me went to the city for some shopping. He bought some cables for his new pedalboard. And now it is complete! He also got a new nice jacket after a lot of testing and approval from both the girl from the store and me!

I just bought a lot of drumsticks, so now i wont need any new ones for a long long time! haha

I will post pictures of everything tomorrow or something when hopefully there will be a rehearsal or recordings!

The weekend was nice. Patrik, Olof and me went to a party at Isabelle (who we met at kräftskivefestivalen earlier this year) At her new apartment. We had a great time eating popcornsnacks, drinking "kräftshots", listening to music :) and watching Isabelle do the napkin-trick! Ending with a taxiride home in the morning!

Another workin' day! Leadsong to "baby come back" and "locomotion". Mr.Berglund recorded his guitars to Little London. Tomorrow we're having one day off and then on thursday it's leadsong,organ and percussions for king and country. Sleep tight!

First TFAS was canceled. Then this morning the gig got canceled completely :)
This will get us more time to focus on the album, but we promise we'll come down and visist you guys in Malmö in 2010! Now we're off to the studio to record leadvocals and patrikgtrs.

The day started out early for Pontus Fagerström, lead singer in swedish popband Oh Jollity. As the dawn broke like a bull through the hall he managed to make his way to the studio. Electric bass guitar and reamping took place before the four jollities parted ways. A really great session!

OK OK OK! Johnny easily laid down the drums on track to no less than 4 songs! We even started to record some guitars before the night took over. Along with the night came the parties and the recordings ended.

A quick breather

Finally, me and Patrik put our heads together and ordered our FX pedals! It'll come next week and we're like kids on xmas. We're doing the recordingsession as planned this weekend, starting out with drums and bassguitar, continuing next week with guitars and vocals. The mixes are starting to sound good and it wont take long until they go off to mastering. PONTUS

After some canceled reheasals last week we finaly got it working yesterday evening. Starting off with some coffe and then doing finetuning on "Little London", "Broadway", "Baby come back" and "Locomotion". It was a great weekend down south with a hockeygame on saturday evening, so thrilling that a person in the audience got an heartattack late in the game. This week we're preparing the songs and ourselves for recording and the dates are TUESDAY,THURSDAY then hopefully recording on SATURDAY-SUNDAY. The mixing will continue and we're extatic about an vintage tape cassette intro to our song "Pauline's". When the idéa was spoken out loud last night everybody stood up, held each others hands and just screamed.

I just took a nice little walk in the sun to go get our beloved AKG 414 as well as Johnny's trumpet. Olof picked me up with his car and we went home preparing for the trumpet session later tonight.

Todays rehearsal got canceled due to sickness in the Öjersjö-region. Just started to remix Slow Love for the album and there's a lot of improvements to be done. We're planning a field recording in November along with the Malmö-gig. We'll probably just pack the car with all our stuff and get it settled in a house down in Simrishamn to stay there for a couple of days recording. We all hope Mr.Berglund will be back on track very soon. / P

haircut

Hello world! I got myself a new haircut in this 50s style chair so now I'm look like myself again. We're almost done mixing Vasaplatsen,Fortyfive and One on one. We're planning another recordingsession, hopefully October 24-25 if the time is right. The guitaristas are placing an order this week for pedals. My part will be a RAT pedal as well as an TubeScreamer! / Pontus

Sadly, The Fine Arts Showcase has canceled the gig at Bodoni in November. The good news is: WE HAVE NOT! We'll still be playing, singing, dancing and drinking so don't hesitate to drop by!

THE OH JOLLITY MEMORIAL AWARD!

It seems we got another gig booked, this time in Sthlm and looks like it'll be on December 15th. The song Vasaplatsen (yeah yeah yeah) is starting to sound good, we just recorded the final pieces which was a faboulous ravishing guitarsolo from the burning fingers of Patrik Berglund. Could it be our first singel ? Only time can tell.

Last night I was at a extremly inspiring show at Trädgårn, Göteborg. Ray Davies played and it was the greatest gig of 2009, followed by Bob Hund at götaplatsen at Kulturkalaset. He played all the hits: waterloo sunset, autumn almanac, apeman, til the end of the day, dead end street etc etc. As a nice suprise Ebbot Lundberg showed up doing a duet with Davies! Later in the bar he told me he was honored but very nervous and that they only practised once before the show. I would've been very nervous to playing with Mr. Davies :) / Pontus
